Catholicism is the largest single Christian denomination in the United States. The Pew Research Center's 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study, published in February 2025, found that 19% of US adults identify as Catholic. The Catholic share of the population has been relatively stable since 2014, with small fluctuations between 18% and 21% in Pew's annual surveys.
